In 1977, partners Donald Beaton and Richard Wills established a new accounting firm in a small office building in downtown St. Catharines, Ontario laying the foundation for today’s firm. Lawrence Wormald and Laurent Masse were admitted as partners in 1990 and Wills & Beaton subsequently retired in 1996 and 1999 respectively. In 1992 the firm purchased the building where it is now located on Lake Street in the north of St. Catharines. William Keen, Michael Lopinski and Arthur Lopinski were admitted as partners in 1997, 1999 and 2002 respectively.

In 2005 Greg de Prinse was admitted as partner and has taken on the managing role of WMKL's tax department. In January 1, 2007, the firm was pleased to admit Kevin Burtch as a partner.
