Accuity LLP is a new name for an established firm, rich in its history and roots in Hawaii. Our office was founded in 1951, when John A. (Jack) Baker, Jr. and David O. Gillette started the Baker & Gillette, CPA firm.
In 1965, Baker & Gillette merged with Lybrand, Ross Bros. & Montgomery, becoming one of the Big Eight U.S. accounting firms. In 1973, we became part of an international firm when we merged with Cooper Brothers of the United Kingdom and several other international firms, emerging as Coopers & Lybrand.
In 1998, the international firms of Coopers & Lybrand and Price Waterhouse merged to form PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) – a global firm extending to 142 countries worldwide.
Accuity LLP was created in 2006, in response to the strategic decision by PwC to exit the Honolulu market. With our partners’ acquisition of the practice, we have returned to our local roots as one of the largest accounting firms in Hawaii. We are also proud to be an independent member of Baker Tilly International.
Accuity LLP continues the legacy established by Baker & Gillette in its commitment to serve the people and businesses of Hawaii. Our Ohana’s dedication to service makes a difference to our clients and to our community.
