Bill Bender started providing accounting services to his clients in 1978. With the help of a few clients and their referral sources Bill''s practice grew. In 1982, Bill Bender and Joel Weltman, who were acquaintances, crossed paths again at a Halloween party they were attending for their children. They started discussing their careers and direction for their futures and the next month, Bender-Weltman was established. Jim Thomas joined the firm as a partner in 1988 and Bill Perry joined the firm as a partner in 1999. In 1999, we officially became Bender, Weltman, Thomas, Perry & Co, PC (BWTP). The firm has evolved from a two-man office to an office of more than 45 employees.
BWTP attributes its growth over the past twenty-five years to the firm''s commitment to providing high-quality, professional auditing, accounting, tax, and consulting services to our clients at a fair and reasonable fee. Our commitment to our clients'' success is personified with our staff. We have structured our firm so that highly experienced team members are assigned to all engagements. Exceptional team members and service set us apart from other CPA firms. Our commitment to our clients'' success is evidenced by the level of involvement the partners have with each client. The firm is built on the philosophy that to fully service a client, the partners must be involved at the work level, because it is at this level that exceptional client service is possible.
