LI Web Tech started in 1985 as a BBS or Bulletin Board System under the name of "PDSLO" or "Public Domain Software Library Online". It quickly became one of the largest download bbs's or file repositories on the east coast. In 1988 the company changed it's name to "House Of Files" since it was the place to go to download program, game and image files.
In 1990 it started to get involved in the internet, providing basic connectivity, shell access and usenet news. In 1992 the company began offering Usenet news via a satellite downlink feed to provide uncensored and unlimited newsgroup reading. At that same time House Of Files began to get involved in the basic web site design and very simple hosting.
